Our local Appleton Museum of Art here in Ocala is opening its doors free of charge on Saturday, July 9th. Everyone in the community is invited to enjoy the current exhibitions and short films, as well as art-making activities at Appleton all day, free of charge. Current exhibitions include Norman Rockwell: The Man Behind the Canvas, and the all-new Inspired Lines: Drawing Biennial 2016. There is also an on-going ancient world exhibit featuring art from Egypt, Greece, and Rome.

The museum was founded in 1982 by Arthur I. Appleton (who also established local Bridlewood Farm) to house his immense art collection and share it with the Ocala public. Appleton Museum of Art has become a major cultural center of the South, and a beautiful addition to the Marion County community. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy the deep riches of Appleton Museum free of charge!
