College of Central Florida – Biology major
Salon 29 – Owner

Born and raised in Ocala, Jordan knows the heart and spirit of the region as well as she knows herself. She has the focused, fearless confidence of knowing what she wants to do and sets about finding ways of getting it done, with the flexibility of changing course when new opportunities appear.

Initially intending to study biology at Central Florida College, she quickly realized it wasn’t actually what she was interested in doing. So she made the decision to switch to Marion Technical College to earn her cosmetology license.

“What I learned about going to a technical college is that they focus directly on the skill,” she explains. “It’s a year or two of studying the meat and bones of what it is you’re going to be doing. I feel like more schools should be like that.”

She spent two years working at Salon 209, developing her knowledge and experience about that business and making a solid plan before buying it from the owner. The flexibility and autonomy of making her own schedule also allowed her to be more involved in her son’s life and school, and she enjoys running her own business.

Jordan’s interest in real estate grew from her work with her husband, Clayton Wagner, who has been a long-time agent with Showcase Properties of Central Florida. Helping him with various properties allowed her to realize that not only was she good at the work, but it was also another outlet for her creativity and business skills – and she really enjoyed it. They make a good team, she says, because they challenge each other.

“We push and motivate each other, and sometimes we’re competitive. But that’s a good thing,” she observes. “It helps to have that dichotomy.”

With her long history in Ocala and the relationships she’s developed, Jordan has a formidable background of knowledge and experience within easy reach. Plus, it gives her the opportunity to use her skills in an additional and equally stimulating capacity, which is a challenge she’s always interested in.

“It’s fun to get to work with people in a different way. At the salon, I make people feel beautiful, and in real estate, I get to see the satisfaction and happiness in them when they get their new home.”     |      352.598.9754  Cell      |      View My Listings
