Paul grew up in Sarasota, Florida, where his Dublin-born father and Parisienne mother moved the family so they could be close to both sets of grandparents. Being raised in a multicultural, uniquely European household, his family encouraged his gregarious nature, allowing him to explore a natural creativity and curiosity. He earned his license in cosmetology in 1994 and worked as a stylist for many years until the 2008 housing crash, when it became more of a challenge to maintain a salon.

“I enjoyed it and was good at being a stylist, but I was ready for a change,” he explains. “I wanted more for myself than standing behind a chair for the rest of my life.”

He went on to earn his Real Estate license in 2009 and established a career in Orlando, working in residential sales and residential property management for the next fourteen years. During that time he also earned his Broker’s license and several industry designations. He met his husband in Ocala, and after three years of commuting relocated here in 2018, but kept his job in Orlando until he decided to make the professional move as well.

“When I was planning the jump from working in Orlando to here in Ocala, I talked to different firms in the area,” he says. “I had worked with some of the bigger franchises, but you never really saw the brokers themselves, and I had always had that access at my previous brokerage. That’s the kind of relationship I wanted.”

He met with Valerie Dailey and was impressed with the office and the team at Showcase. He also liked the diversity of properties. “Showcase has a good mix of big and small farms, residential real estate and commercial properties. There was an opportunity for me to offer my experience, as well as broaden my own knowledge in other areas. That was ideal for me.”

Paul will be focusing on Residential sales initially, but plans to move into horse farms and properties. He’s an avid learner committed to continuing education and earning his professional designations. “I want to immerse myself in learning as much as I can. Clients need to have confidence that I know what I’m talking about.”

An avid cook and avowed foodie, Paul loves a good kitchen where he can put the things he learned from his parents and grandparents to use. If he’s not in the kitchen, you’ll find him either digging in his garden, cheering on his Tampa Bay Buccaneers or playing with Jasper, his beloved Mini Australian Shepherd, at the home he shares with his husband Michael. |     407.432.2274      |      View My Listings
