For over 25 years, Cindy and her husband Tod have been involved in the thoroughbred horse business. They have raised and sold thoroughbred race horses and also owned a custom embroidery and promotional product company in Texas and Florida that focused on equestrian farms and businesses. Finally settling in Ocala, Florida, her husband, Tod, is now Director of Sales at the Ocala Breeder’s Sales Company, and the two of them are still heavily involved in horse-related activities. As her five children grew up and left the nest, Cindy found herself with time to learn new skills and ready for a career change.
“I have always enjoyed the challenge and gratification of running my own business. I had the idea of being a REALTOR in the back of my mind, but just never acted on it. After my husband and I returned to Ocala I was searching for something to do. A friend suggested selling real estate and I guess it was just the push I was looking for,” Cindy explains.
It didn’t take long for Cindy to realize she made a good choice. Working with Showcase Properties only since July, Cindy sold enough property to earn the distinction of Rookie of The Year in 2014 from the Ocala/Marion County Association of REALTORS® . Utilizing her equestrian knowledge in her real estate business, Cindy focuses on horse farms in the area, but also works with clients looking for residential properties. “We cater to horse farms in the area and my horse experience is very helpful, but I also have a passion for helping people achieve their dreams in a residential home as well,” she says.
To Cindy, all transactions are exciting and enjoyable. “For me it is not just selling. I enjoy building relationships with customers as well as colleagues. I really enjoy real estate because I’m dealing with people who are excited to buy a home, which makes it fun for me.”
