“October home sales in Marion County increased by 6.8 percent from the same month last year, according to data released Thursday by the Ocala/Marion County Association of Realtors.”

The report shows 489 closed sales in the Ocala and surrounding Marion County areas in October, up from 458 a year ago. Meanwhile, the median sale price was $106,000, up 3.7 percent from $102,250.

“You look at the average sales price and the median sales price, and there’s a little creeping going on right now,” said Randall Alvord, 2014 president of the Ocala/Marion County Association of Realtors. “It’s pulling a lot of people off the fence as far as trying to get stuff closed before the end of the year.”
