Serious horsemen and women in the Ocala area will be excited to know that the University of Florida Cooperative Extension Service’s annual Equine Institute and Allied Trade Show is just around the corner! This year’s theme is “Enhancing Core Competencies”, and a series of seminars will focus on educating horse owners in important and compelling subjects such as building equine core strength, application of police horse training to riding, how to boost equine gastrointestinal health, and many more. There will also be live demonstrations in select seminars. Come out to support our local horse industry in Marion County, and learn new and exciting ways to enhance your own equine experience!

The trade show will open at 8 AM on Thursday, September 15th at the Southeastern Livestock Pavillion in Ocala. Seminars begin at 8:30. Early registration on or before September 7th is just $35, and student registration (student ID required) is $20. FTBOA members can register for $25 with proof of membership. Onsite and late registration after September 7th is $75. Registration gets you access to all six seminars and the trade show. Also included are refreshments and a catered lunch, as well as free copies of the seminar speakers’ papers. Each registered attendee will be entered into a drawing to win one of five $50 gift certificates to Tack Shack of Ocala and their sister store, Tack Shack Too. The drawing will be held at the conclusion of the day’s events on the 15th.
