It’s almost time for one of the coolest 5K extravaganzas you’ll ever experience. The GLO with the FLO 5K is a race through Ocala’s Historic Downtown. Unlike any other 5k, this race is set at night with glow sticks and neon clothing. It will truly light up the night.

Sponsored by the Marion County Children’s Alliance and The Drayton Florence Foundation, we are proud to bring to Ocala, the 2nd Annual “Glo With The Flo” 5k Glow Run, to be held Saturday August 22, 2015 at 8pm. Each organization is dedicated to raising a healthier generation by educating children and families on healthy eating habits and the importance of fitness activities in their daily lives.

Childhood obesity has become an epidemic among today’s children and youth. A 2012 Marion County Health Department assessment of first, third and sixth-graders identified 26% as clinically obese and 19% as overweight – resulting in almost 46% of Marion County’s children being evaluated as overweight or worse!

Proceeds from this event will provide accessible and affordable food plus physical activity to the youth of Marion County. Early registration continues through August 15 and online late registration closes on August 20. Race day registration will be available. For more information visit the event page here.
