Showcase Properties Presents: Ask the Agent

“Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life.”

Confucius

This series highlights each team member’s unique experiences, recommendations, perspectives, and advice. We hope it will help you get to know your REALTOR® and our support staff with a little more familiarity, and maybe you’ll find you have something in common to talk with us about when you meet us in person!

A key in the door.

It goes without saying that we love where we live, and for us here at Showcase, we also really love our jobs. So much of what we do involves us in the community, keeps us interested and active, and never gives us the same day twice. There’s a lot of work and a lot of hours that go into a successful brokerage, and often you’ll find people from our team working late – doing a showing after hours to accommodate a client’s schedule, handling the last-minute details of a closing contract, or attending an event representing the firm.

Some days we feel like we’re running pell-mell, juggling all kinds of different tasks, taking phone calls, reworking our calendars and negotiating sales while also trying to find time for lunch. But we don’t begrudge a minute of it; the reward of a job well done and the accomplishment of delivering the perfect home to each client propels us in ways that might legitimately label us adrenaline junkies.

We’re lucky to work in a place that makes us feel supported and stimulated, with a team that’s fun, funny, smart, and collaborative – and we know how fortunate we are to get out of bed and start our days with a sense of anticipation and enthusiasm. It’s work, and it’s often hard work – but it’s not a chore, and this industry is never dull.

What do you enjoy most about working in the real estate industry?

A stunning historic home.
“I love that everyday is different, the adrenaline rush of closing a deal, and the limitless potential.”

– Clayton Wagner, Broker Associate

Elizabeth Gray
“I really enjoy seeing different styles of homes and properties from historic to modern and everything in between. It’s a lot of fun, and it broadens my knowledge about the area.”

– Liz Gray, REALTOR®

“I enjoy the social aspects of real estate; it keeps me in touch with my community and connects me to things that are going on outside my own orbit. The financial freedom is of course wonderful, and I love that I can work from my home office.”

– Tina Halsteter, REALTOR®

“Meeting all kinds of people from different walks of life, and helping them realize their dream of finding and purchasing their perfect home.”

– Linda Adamson, REALTOR®

A smiling family.
“All of the incredible people you meet – buyers, sellers and agents – as well as the amazing homes, the history, the stories they have behind those walls! I never get tired of it.”

–Heather Lenemier, Graphic Designer

Heather Lenemier
“I’m never bored for something new to write and talk about each day. On Monday I might be researching an article about the census, and by Friday I’m working on a piece about miniature horses. It’s never the same and it’s never dull.”

– Angela Durrell, Copywriter

“My favorite parts of the job are the social interaction; I love meeting and talking to people. I enjoy the autonomy and flexibility I have to make my own schedule, and it’s great that I’m working with a supportive team and broker.”

– Dawn Mahler, REALTOR®

A beautiful living room in shades of yellow and light blue.
“It always makes me feel satisfied to make our clients happy. Plus I also come in contact with and meet such great people and see a lot of diversity; there can be wonderful surprises in where conversations can lead. I also enjoy the opportunities I have for continuing education and professional enrichment.”

– Noris Roche, REALTOR®

Every property and every REALTOR® are completely different, and they have to be marketed as such. You can get a formula down, but you can’t just apply the same thing over and over again. My job is different every single day. It gives me a lot to think about and challenges me creatively every day. ”

– Lacey Weber, Creative Director

Heather Lenemier
Kathy Prater
“I love working with images of beautiful properties. I especially enjoy unique architecture and features. It’s a favorite pastime of mine, and it’s great that I get to do it for work. ”

– Anna Duhame, Graphic Designer
